The RWBA is the result of a collaboration between Porsche and two of its most iconic collaborators – Daniel Arsham and Akira Nakai of RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF (RWB).
To celebrate Porsche’s 75th anniversary, Porsche Asia commissioned artist Daniel Arsham to create something special for the event in Tokyo. Arsham, who has a long history of collaboration with Porsche and a deep appreciation for Japanese art and car culture, sought to blend design elements from the rich culture of Japanese street racing, especially the iconic “Midnight Club.”
Arsham suggested a three-way collaboration with RWB , a renowned Japanese modifier of 911s known for its distinctive wide-body kits. Akira Nakai, RWB’s founder, personally handles each build, offering an unmatched, bespoke customization experience that transforms every Porsche into a masterpiece of automotive art.
Porsche approved the collaboration and creation of the RWBA – the world’s first Slantnose Porsche 964 RWB – which was revealed at the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo in April 2023.
Based on a 1991 Japan-Spec 964 911, the car’s front-end was backdated to accommodate a 935-style Slantnose and the iconic RWB fenders were fiberglassed-in rather than riveted, both firsts for RWB. The car boasts a white exterior, a 993 GT2 rear wing, an Arsham Green Pantone interior (including the carpets), and chrome JDM-style deep dish wheels, creating a unique blend of art, automotive design, and Japanese tuning culture. The RWBA is the result of a collaboration between Porsche and two of its most iconic collaborators – Daniel Arsham and Akira Nakai of RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF (RWB).
